Vinted Users Share Anger Regarding Sizing Updates
Shoppers are voicing their frustration due to a modification that led to listings displaying inaccurate size information.
This online marketplace has altered its sizing categories for women's and children's clothes failing to inform every member regarding the update.
Digital Channels Backlash
Numerous buyers and vendors have taken to social media stating that platform listings now display an altered size classification versus the original listing due to the recalibration.
Vinted explained the revised method more closely matches similar services.
It has advised users to review their products and adjust the sizing manually where appropriate, which has left users frustrated.
Size Classification Updates
Before the change, the measurements included one number and one letter, such as S/8 or M/10.
The updated approach includes an alphabetical indicator and numerical range like S/UK 8-10.
For certain items, the size labels have been reassigned - like an L measurement was previously a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18.
Shopper Accounts
One content creator, who creates plus-size fashion videos, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".
"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.
Another user, from Glasgow, stated items she posted with size 14 tags were appearing on the platform as size 20–22.
"If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they may become frustrated," she explained.
Necessary Adjustments
A different user, from Derby, stated she felt frustrated due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizes on "every single listing".
"Personally, this is quite irritating, because of my ongoing medical condition and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she stated.
Service Background
The service features exceeding 100 million shoppers, comprising 18 million UK members.
It has proved a popular alternative to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.
This isn't the first time that an unexpected update to the app has proved unpopular: last year, Vinted reversed a change concerning shipment methods due to shopper criticism.
